About local4local
Origin
During the lockdown of Phnom Penh in April, Local4Local was established by a Cambodian college student named Hao Taing, stuck at home and unable to resume his studies in person back in the freezing winters of St Paul, the capital city of the state of Minnesota in the US.
“How can we use social media for good where kindness starts with small thing?” – With little prior experience in non-profits, Hao started Local4Local, a rapidly growing charity making an impact on Phnom Penh’s people in need. In a few months, Local4Local has collaborated with NGOs and local initiatives to developed several charity campaigns, such as Cyclo Pantry, Futuristic Cyclo Competition, Cyclo Food Coupon, Creative Cyclo Tours, Local4Local Volunteers (L4LV) and many more.
Mission
Local4Local’s vision to create a “Community of Kindness” for the locals, by locals. We believe in community, collaboration, and creativity. This is why Local4Local was created for local Khmer to help support their less fortunate brothers and sisters in Cambodia. Local4Local is a youth-led food drive initiative sustaining livelihoods of cyclo drivers and supporting street dwellers in Cambodia.
Our mission is to support all those in need and bring some respite to people in difficult times where small act of kindness matters. We want to empower and inspire our fellow Khmers and spread kindness and love. Check out full details and future plans of Local4Local – លូខលហ្វរលូខល here.
